Musings on Love

When you think about love or the notion of love, how would you define it?…

I've come to realize that love isn’t a feeling. It’s a doing. It’s a being.

Love encompasses and sustains everything around us.

It’s the soft tune that plays in the background of our lives.

Out of sight, but somehow heavy enough to feel its presence.

Or its absence.

Love is in the sway of the trees.

The glow of the shimmering moon.

The flow of secret streams.

The awe of crystal mountain tops.

The embrace of the warm morning sun.

We breathe in love with every breath.

When war abounds, love abides.

When destruction threatens, love deflects.

Yes, love can withstand hate’s constant barrage of arrows.

Even when wounded, it still thrives and heals.

The ability to forgive - truly forgive - is a byproduct of love.

True love.

Without love, the world would be unbalanced.

It would cease to exist.

Love is the strongest force on earth.

Yet it’s otherworldly.

And this love can only emanate from the One who is the true embodiment of love.

The One who endured the hatred of veiled minds and blind eyes.

The One who conquered death to bring us life.

True life.

This type of love is what suspends the earth in the cradle of the universe.

And paves the golden road to our eternal home.
